Science Communication Guidebook

More impact with visuals and science popularisation

Science communication is about making scientific knowledge understandable, accessible and impactful for a wide range of audiences. Often the most challenging aspect of communicating science is to put complex and specialised scientific information into a clear and concise form. In reaching wider audiences, the message should be formulated in such a way that it can be understood even with less background information. At its best, science communication is not only informative, but also interesting and engaging.

We have put together a free guide for scientists, presenting a range of solutions to the needs of science communication and the social impact of science. We provide additional information on high-impact communication, which you can use, for example, to support you in preparing your funding application. In addition, you will find examples of communication solutions for budgets of different sizes, as well as research on the effectiveness of animated video.
